Walking through the park wasn't exactly an original thing for a vampire to do, but Rhiannon was having a slow night. She'd already had her 'dinner' and left the body in an alleyway before calling the police. She rarely ever killed, only ever when she thought or knew that the person knew who she was. She couldn't risk anyone coming after her again. She liked it in this town and so she was hoping to stay around longer. Besides unless someone could actual point her out in a group of people and say she definitely was the one who pinned them to a wall and drank their blood then there wasn't really anything that they could do to her.
Pushing her hair out of her face when a particularly annoying gush of wind flew past she made her way through the trees. She had decided to take a nice, slow walk home after her 'meal' through the park. There was no rush to be home and so she just slowly walked through the park barely paying attention to where she was going or what was around her. When you were a blood sucking immortal like Rhiannon was there wasn't much need for worrying about what could attack you.

In the middle of the road sat five toughs. The typical kind. Jackets of leather or denim, shortened hairstyles and lots of metal in their faces. The kid in the group stood out though, because he was literally a kid.
He looked to be about thirteen years old.
Wearing a flat white T-shirt with a smilie on it, the kid was currently whaling on the other toughs in a fast-paced game of gin rummy, and he was cackling fit for a place in Oz. The other players grumbled but made no move to leave or evacuate the road.
"Come on, twerp." One tough pleaded, the begging look on his face ruined by the noserings stuck out in front of it. "We just copped that money."
Twerp looked straight up at Nose, a devilish grin on his face, and said, "No luck."
Then he laid out a trio of kings, to another chorus of groans.
The lady rounding the corner was greeted by wolf whistles and the expected entourage, but Twerp just grinned.
"Want to join?" he said cheerfully, holding up a card for her. "I'm bored."
Twerp's eyes weren't fully open; they were lidded and slow, moving lazily from one place to another. The way his gaze swept her indicated that he certainly didn't think like a kid, at least.
The other toughs went silent in anticipation of her answer, although Nose just rolled his eyes and started shuffling again.

Walking through the park was quiet and relaxing and definitely what she'd needed to finish off an evening which had gone off completly without a hitch. Everything had gone just as planned and now as it was no where near coming to an end she wondered what she could do next. Rhiannon wasn't one to sit around all night and do nothing before going to bed for the day, that just wasn't the kind of person she was. But at the moment there didn't seem to be a better offer.
Until she heard a group of loud voices practically yelling through the park. There was frustration evident she could hear but nothing threatening and so she continued to walk onwards knowing that she was heading directly to the voices. They all sounded childish to her, and the moment she began rounding a group of thick trees and scrubary she could tell that she was right. They were all children in her eyes, though most of them were older than the one that stood out the most. He looked like he shouldn't have been away from home at this time of the night, let alone awake and gambling. But she wouldn't say anything, it wasn't her place and sure as anything wasn't her care.
She resisted the urge to use each and ever one of those children for her next meal when they let out a degrading wolf whistle but hid it all behind her facade of innocence. Anyone who knew her would know that this was just the beginning of a night which could possibly end with only her left walking around, but thankfully no one knew her.
She gave the youngest kid an indifferent look, he wouldn't be getting anything from her so he could just content himself with looking, and contemplated his question, "Why not? The night is young" she said calmly, her voice even and almost chilled. She wasn't particularly fond of standing or sitting around a park playing card games with people so obviously younger than her own years but she was even less fond of sitting around her apartment pretending her life was more than just drinking people's blood.

"Great!" Twerp said brightly, and it was at that moment the underlying dark humor became evident. "Here." He handed the lady the lone card and went back to playing.
After a moment everyone realized that Twerp wasn't going to give her a full hand, and Nose snorted again. Shuffling the deck, he dealt her another six cards and sat back.
"So who's up?" Twerp asked disinterestedly. He had his cards cocked back at an angle where he couldn't even see them, and he was staring off somewhere into the forest canopy.
"Bake is." Nose answered, and smacked the deck down in the center of the rough circle.
Bake, another roughie with two earrings in his left ear, groaned and drew, staring at the card in disgust when he peeked at it.
"Can I get my money back?" he said, to a low roll of chuckles from the others. A general "No," sounded, and Bake swore something under his breath before laying another card on the discard pile.
"So what's the lady betting?" he asked, moving back to his place at the circle's edge. "I can thi-"
"Shut up." Twerp interrupted, and Bake shut up.
Twerp looked at the lady out of the corner of an eye, and said simply, "You get guest courtesy. That's all."
Then he looked back to the game and dropped the subject.
"Why didn't I get guest cur'sey?" One thug complained sullenly, looking up from where he was cleaning his fingernails with a knife.
"'Cause you're a dumb damn." Twerp replied easily, to another ripple of laughter.
The other man colored and his hand shot down to his pocket, a reflex every street rat had when threatened or embarassed. Twerp's reflex was a shake of his leg. A little gun flew out of his pants leg, and he caught it easily, his arms almost longer than his legs in his awkward child's body.
Without a moment of hesitation the boy double-tapped the tough twice in the chest, the shots echoing through the park. Silence reigned as the other men paled.
The tough Twerp had shot coughed, looked at his chest, and growled before sighing. There was a weird liquid quality in his voice suddenly, like something was bubbling in his lungs.
"S'pose I deserved that." he sighed, reaching into the bullet wounds and pulling the lead rounds out with a grimace. He tossed them off into the forest and sat up, drawing a card.
"Hell, Boe, I'd've thought you'd learn by now." Twerp said amusedly, bending over to pop open the slide on his gun and load a pair of bullets in. "I don't like quick hands."
"Ain't like it stays there long." Bo replied, smacking his chest with a free hand. The holes in his chest were barely more than dimples now, although blood still ran copiously down his chest.
"So you like being shot?" Nose asked with a bland look on his face.
Bo thought for a moment.
"Fifty-fifty." he said finally, tossing a card into the pile. "I get to piss off boss."
Twerp made a face at him, and Bo laughed.
A moment passed before the group realized the last kid wasn't playing. He had gone pasty white and was looking at Bo.
"How'd you do that?" he asked, trembling violently.
Twerp rolled his eyes. "Gawd, a flathead. You brought a normal to the game, Bo?"
The previously-hurt man shrugged. "Thought he was a vamp." he answered bluntly. "Guessed wrong, 'pparently."
The white-faced teen looked around and said, "What the hell are you talking about?"
Twerp looked over at the lady and asked, "Hey, you a vamp? Be a shame to just waste him, and Bo's full."
"Just ate dinner." Bo said, nodding. He reached over behind the kid, who was staring at Twerp now, and slammed the teen's face into the dirt, hard. A crack echoed, and the street rat went limp after convulsing once.
"Your turn, lady." Nose said disinterestedly.

Rhiannon had taken the cards with an air of indifferences she used ever time she was doing something merely for the reason that she didn't have anything better to do. It was a tone that often came from her mouth and often plagued her face. She wasn't the kind of woman who would pretend she cared when in reality she couldn't care less. It just wasn't her style.
She also showed little interest in the conversation shared by the others and wondered whether or not the other supernatural ones in the group had yet to notice that the nervous and jittery looking one was actually a human. She knew this because she could smell it. After being a vampire for as long as she had been she knew in an instance whether or not someone was human, those psychic kids she had trouble with, but for the most part she knew just by smelling their blood exactly what they were. And that kid was not who they thought he was.
She was proven right as the events of the game transpired and she played her cards right. She was only half in the game though, much more content in watching the interactions around her. Rhiannon always had been a little sadistic and couldn't help but find immense amusement in the little boys reaction to the 'unnatural' as most people refered to it as. She'd watched in total calmness as he was killed front of her eyes. Her cold, intense, dark eyes flicked to the one whom offered her the body and she let them bore into his soul for a few seconds before saying in a placated voice, "I don't eat children, they taste like McDonalds" before laying out her own defence in the game. She had no interest in getting involved in their mess. Though she had to admit that part of her was nagging the back of mind to come out and tell them that if they wanted to stay in the city they should probably become a slight bit more subtle.

Twerp snorted and nodded his agreement.
"Stock flavor." he said, and looked at Nose. "Bury 'im." he said, jerking his head towards the body.
Nose's jaw clenched, but he played out his turn and got up, dragging the body over into some bushes. There was a brief sound like the grumble of some enormous beast, and then Nose came back out. Dirt was caked on his fingers.
"Done." Nose said, and sat back down. The next player, Bake, shuffled his cards for a moment, shivering.
"Creeps me out when you do that, Nose." he said, and the man replied by shrugging casually and indicating the man's cards with a finger.
Twerp snorted at the particular choice of finger.
Bake shook his head, almost amused, and passed his turn, having nothing good to play.
"So lady." Bo asked, drawing his next card and making a face at it. "Prowling tonight? I heard most vampires hunt in packs anymore."
He played out a 5-6-7 trio and threw down his next card, waiting for her to go.
"Yeah." Bake said, nodding. "Even I run in packs anymore, and I'm a loner. The flyboys have been getting a little harsher about picking sides nowadays."

Rhiannon ignored the commotion as the one known now as 'Nose' buried the body. She would have no affiliation should the body be found since she hadn't touched it so there was no need for her to give it any more than a fleeting glance. She hadn't even been paying attention long enough for the body to have a face in her mind. Not that she cared enough, that was one thing she hated about mortals. They never seemed to be able to protect themselves. Vampires and demons had too, but mortals seemed to think they were above that, that was why they died.
"I don't prowl, that makes me sound like some kind of monster" she said indifferently taking out several cards and playing them. Rhiannon prefered to think of it as take out or going out to eat rather than prowling. She wasn't a wolf or a pathetic human, and she didn't stalk anyone. She always did it in a way that made her not stand out in a crowd and not cause any commotion. It all worked out very well for her and she'd never been caught.
"I've never had any problems with any of the ones I've run into" she said simply in a chilly voice. Rhiannon had enough knowledge and memory of being human that she was able to pass off as a human whenever she wanted, which helped in situations where people were looking for vampires to kill. She was a master of disguise you could say, especially when she wanted to be. At the moment she had no reason to pretend to be something she wasn't so she kept to her vampire persona but earlier that evening when she was at the bar for 'dinner' she had been a lot friendlier and flirtier which had made her target come with her without anyone really noticing.
